Tennessee Marriage Records Search
For the most current 50 years, Tennessee marriage records are available directly from the State Vital Records Office. Marriage records over 50 years old are available from the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Tennessee marriage records are also available from the County Clerk's Office in the county where the marriage license was issued.
The state of Tennessee offers two types of copies of marriage records: certified and uncertified (Marriage Verification). Сertified copies of marriage records are available for purchase only to the registrant, immediate family members or legal representatives. Verifications of Tennessee marriage records are available to anyone.
Copies of Tennessee marriage records are available by mail order for $15 with a check or money order made payable to the Tennessee Vital Records, along with a photocopy of a government-issued photo ID (if requesting a certified copy) and a completed application for certified copies or a completed application for marriage verification sent to the following address:
