South-Dakota Marriage Records Search
South Dakota marriage records since July 1, 1905 to the present are available from both the State Vital Records Office and from any Сounty Register of Deeds Office. Marriage records prior to July 1, 1905 are only available from the Register of Deeds Office in the county where the marriage occurred.
The state of South Dakota offers three types of copies of marriage records: certified, uncertified and photostatic copy (certified/informational). Сertified copies of marriage records are available for purchase only to the registrant, immediate family members, authorized/designated agents or persons with a personal/property right to the record. Photostatic copies and uncertified informational copies of South Dakota marriage records are available to anyone.
Copies of South Dakota marriage records are available by mail order for $15 with a check or money order made payable to the South Dakota Department of Health, along with a copy of a current government-issued photo ID and a completed application sent to the following address:
