South-Carolina Marriage Records Search
South Carolina marriage records are not open to the public at the state level and can only be accessed by the registrant, spouse or children or legal representatives. South Carolina marriage records are also managed at the county level.
For marriage records since July 1950 to December 2014, certified copies of South Carolina marriage records are available for purchase from both the State Office of Vital Records and the Probate Court Office in the county where the marriage license was issued. Marriage records prior to July 1950 and after December 2014 are only available from the County Probate Court.
Certified copies of South Carolina marriage records are available by mail order for $12 with a cashier’s check or money order made payable to the SC DHEC, along with a photocopy of valid government-issued photo ID, and a completed application sent to the following address:
