New-Hampshire Marriage Records Search
New Hampshire marriage records are not open to the public for 50 years after the event at the state level and can only be accessed by the registrant, immediate family members, legal representatives or persons with direct and tangible interest. New Hampshire marriage records are also managed at the city/town level.
For marriage records since 1640 to the present, certified copies of New Hampshire marriage records are available for purchase directly from the State Office of Vital Records. Marriage records since 1989 to the present are available from any City/Town Clerk’s Office. Marriage records prior to 1989 are available from the City/Town Clerk’s Office in the municipality where the marriage license was issued.
Certified copies of New Hampshire marriage records are available by mail order for $15 with a check or money order made payable to the Treasurer-State of New Hampshire, along with a photocopy of current government-issued photo ID, a self-addressed stamped business size envelope and a completed application sent to the following address:
