Missouri Marriage Records Search

Missouri marriage records are not open to the public at the state level and can only be accessed by the registrant, immediate family members, a legal representative or other legal party.

Missouri marriage records are also managed at the county level and certified copies of Missouri marriage licenses are available for purchase directly from the Recorder of Deeds in the county where the license was issued. The Missouri Bureau of Vital Records can only provide copies of marriage statements since July 1948 to the present.

Certified copies of marriage statements are available by mail order for $15 with a check or money order made payable to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, along with a self-addressed stamped legal size envelope and a completed and notarized application sent to the following address:

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
Bureau of Vital Records
P.O. Box 570
Jefferson City, MO 65102-0570
Tel: (573) 751-6387

You may also go to the State Health Department in person to request a copy of a Missouri marriage statement.

Online ordering and telephone ordering is not available directly from the state.
