Maryland Marriage Records Search
Maryland marriage records are not open to the public at the state level and can only be accessed by the bride, groom, a representative, an attorney or a court of law. At the county level, Maryland marriage records are not confidential and accessible by the public.
For marriage records since January 1, 1990 to the present, copies of Maryland marriage certificates are available for purchase from both the Maryland Department of Health's Division of Vital Records and the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the county where the marriage occurred. Marriage records prior to January 1, 1990 are only available directly from the Сounty Clerk of the Circuit Court or from the Maryland State Archives.
Certified copies of Maryland marriage records are available by mail order for $12 with a check or money order made payable to the Division of Vital Records, along with a legible copy of a valid government issued photo ID, a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a completed application sent to the following address:
